or the Social Security number of an owner, officer, or responsible

What are my payment options?
If you are mandated by the department to pay electronically using Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT), you must continue to do so. If you are not mandated to pay by EFT, you may choose to voluntarily pay by EFT or you may pay by paper check.
Payment by Electronic Funds Transfer
There are three EFT methods available.
EFT Method One – Pay through Sales Tax Web File using the direct debit option.
This method does not require any pre-registration with the
department. You enter your checking or savings account
information and other required payment data into screens that the
program displays. You enter this information each time you file a
balance due return and choose this payment option.
EFT Method Two – Pay through our existing EFT System using the ACH debit option.
This method requires that you pre-register your checking or
savings account information with the department on Form EFT-1
prior to making your initial payment, and then make a toll-free
phone call to the system each time you want to start a payment.
Detailed instructions on using the EFT System are provided after you register.
EFT Method Three – Pay through EFT using the ACH credit option. This method
requires that you pre-register with the department on Form
EFT-1 to select the credit option prior to making your initial
payment, and then contact your financial institution each time
you want to start a payment. Detailed instructions for
initiating an ACH credit are provided after you register.
Payment by Paper Check
If you are not mandated by the department to pay electronically using EFT,
you may pay by paper check. If you choose this option, you should use the
voucher located at the bottom of the preprinted ST-1 or ST-1-T that was
mailed to you, and submit it with your check. If you do not have your
preprinted voucher, a fill-in-form voucher will be made available to you on
the "Confirmation" screen, after you file your balance due return. Do not
mail a copy of your Form ST-1 if you file your return electronically and
choose to pay by check.
Note: Do not use this application to file your IL-1040, Individual Income Tax
Return.
