Reporting and Paying Electronically
The Comptroller's electronic reporting and payment options are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Use these services to save time, money and paper, and to meet requirements to electronically file reports and submit payments to the Comptroller's office. Learn about who is required to report and pay electronically.

- Sales Tax
Electronic Reporting and Paying
Sales Tax WebFile
> WebFile: Use this convenient Web-based system to electronically file your sales
tax return and submit an electronic payment (by credit card, electronic check or
via a link to the state’s TEXNET payment system). You can also use WebFile to
make a payment only or to amend a previously filed return.
> Electronic Data Interchange (EDI): Recommended for businesses reporting more
than 30 outlets or tax jurisdictions. The Comptroller’s office recommends its
approved EDI software to electronically submit large volumes of data with an
option to include payment information.
Electronic Payment Only
> Enroll in TEXNET, the State of Texas Financial Network, to transfer payment
directly to the Comptroller’s office through ACH debit or ACH credit. Taxpayers
who paid $100,000 or more in sales tax are required to submit their payment
through TEXNET.
Electronic Reporting Only – For No Tax Due
> TeleFile: As another electronic reporting option, you can use the telephone to
file a sales tax return if you have one or more locations and no sales at any of
them.
- Franchise Tax
Electronic Reporting and Paying
Franchise Tax WebFile
> WebFile: Use this Web-based system to electronically file your franchise tax
reports and submit payment electronically (by credit card, electronic check or
via a link to the state’s TEXNET payment system). Taxpayers who paid $10,000 or
more must use TEXNET if making a payment only.
Electronic Payment Only
> Enroll in TEXNET, the State of Texas Financial Network, to transfer payment
directly to the Comptroller’s office through ACH debit or ACH credit. Taxpayers
who paid $100,000 or more in franchise tax are required to submit their payment
through TEXNET.

Filing for Multiple Taxpayer IDs?
In the new MyCPA for WebFile for hotel, mixed beverage, motor vehicle rental tax and insurance premium taxes, users can register once and file for as many taxpayer IDs as needed. It is not necessary to create a User ID for each taxpayer account.
Electronic Reporting and Paying
> This fast, easy and secure Web-based system will allow you to electronically
file your tax report and submit payment (by credit card, electronic check or via
TEXNET).
To login, you'll need the taxpayer ID number(s) and WebFile number(s) off of the preprinted return(s) you received in the mail.
Electronic Payment Only
> Taxpayers who paid $100,000 or more in taxes are required to submit their
payment through TEXNET. Enroll in TEXNET, the State of Texas Financial Network,
to transfer payment directly to the Comptroller’s office through ACH debit or
ACH credit.
MyCPA for WebFile
The Comptroller’s office has established a secure login portal that allows an individual or authorized representative to set up one user account for single sign-on with access to multiple taxpayer IDs and their related taxes and reporting and paying functions.
MyCPA is currently available for hotel, insurance, mixed beverage and motor vehicle rental taxes.
- International Fuels Tax Agreement (IFTA)
Electronic Reporting and Paying
> Use the Comptroller’s approved Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) software to
transmit your tax with an option to include payment information.
Electronic Payment Only
> Enroll in TEXNET, the State of Texas Financial Network, to transfer payment
directly to the Comptroller’s office through ACH debit or ACH credit. Taxpayers
who paid $100,000 or more for these taxes are required to submit their payment
through TEXNET.
- Motor Fuels Tax

> Use the Comptroller’s approved Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) software to
transmit your tax with an option to include payment information.
Electronic Payment Only
> Enroll in TEXNET, the State of Texas Financial Network, to transfer payment

who paid $100,000 or more for these taxes are required to submit their payment

- Natural Gas and Crude Oil Tax

transmit your tax with an option to include payment information.
Electronic Payment Only
> Enroll in TEXNET, the State of Texas Financial Network, to transfer payment
directly to the Comptroller’s office through ACH debit or ACH credit. Taxpayers
who paid $100,000 or more for these taxes are required to submit their payment
through TEXNET.
